ABOUT THE DESIGNER
"After retiring from a job that kept me traveling around the United States, I found myself needing to do more. I sought out a job as a substitute teacher for kindergarten to second grade. The class of choice was art. I taught my students that art was an outlet, a place to share emotions and there was no wrong way. One of my last projects was teaching my students how to make windchimes from paper cups and beads.

Then the pandemic hit before the next school year and teaching became virtual. Trying to teach art to small children virtually was a challenge. Understanding there was no time to ensure my students had the necessary art supplies, my first lesson was how to use paper and a pencil to create black and white art that would be just a beautiful as if they were using crayons, markers or paint.
I started this journey wanting to make stylish clip-on earrings. Using leftover beads from my classroom, I began making earrings for myself. After experimenting with different styles, I thought it would be nice to have a classy bracelet to match. My journey morphed into creating a collection that speaks to my personality. My attraction to earth tone hues led me to an exploration of different gemstones, glass, and natural wood beads."
